in Hamburg as soon as possible 

Project Controlling & Compliance Specialist (d/f/m)

- limited for 1 year / full-time (39 hours per week) -

Your tasks:

  • Oversee expenditure and income control and conduct ongoing financial planning in close collaboration with project teams. 
  • Manage and monitor the finances of humanitarian and development aid projects, funded by both public and private donors. 
  • Prepare, review, and consolidate project budgets, financial statements, and funding requirements. 
  • Develop financial interim and final reports for ongoing and new projects. 
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations (e.g., AA, BMZ, EU, UN agencies, private donors). 
  • Support country offices and project partners in financial management, reporting, and donor compliance. 
  • Assist with audits and contribute to effective contract management processes. 

Your profile:

  • Completed degree or comparable qualification (e.g., bachelor’s in finance, Controlling, or Business Administration). 
  • Practical experience in project accounting or managing publicly funded project resources is an asset. 
  • Proficiency with IT-based project management and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, MS Dynamics 365). 
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with advanced MS Excel knowledge. 
  • Language skills: Very good English (C1); good Spanish (B2) and German (B2). 
  • Experience working or living abroad is an advantage. 
  • Structured, independent, and reliable working style. 
  • High intercultural competence, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. 
    Flexible, solution-oriented team player with a proactive approach.
